CT11 MENS x DAY THREE WRAP x VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS


There were goals a-plenty on Day Three of the Owen G Glenn Champions Trophy in Aukland, New Zealand.

Spain destroyed Great Britain 8-1 to secure 2nd place in Pool A behind Australia who inflicted a 6-1 thumping to Pakistan. Both Australia and Spain move into Pool C, the Medals Pool.

In Pool B, Germany had a 3-3 draw with Korea in a game which had some amazing goals, and The Netherlands also drew 3-3 with host New Zealand, who have punched above their world ranking thus far in the tourament.

This means that Australia, Spain, The Netherlands and New Zealand will all progress to Pool C, the Medal Pool. Our 2011 Champion will come from one of these four.

All the highlights from todays action are below, along with the standings after the first Pool Phase. Teams carry over points and goals into either Pool C or D based on their result from the First Pool Phase game against the other team that has joined them in the new Pools. This mean all teams have two games to play before the Finals Day (Sunday).

The Finals Day will play out like this; The Gold Medal match will be between the two highest ranked teams of Pool C, the Bronze Medal match will be between the 3rd and 4th ranked teams from Pool C, 5th Place will be between the top two ranked teams in Pool D, and 7th Place will be between the 3rd and 4th ranked team in Pool D.
