Hey Crew,
William Godfrey here, thought I’d give some insight to the England Youth program.
On the 13-15 February I travelled to Lilleshall National Sports Centre for a training camp with the England U16 squad and matches against Wales.
The first day was training which consisted of practising our press and short corner routines. The second day, we had a training session in the morning and in the afternoon we had our first fixture against Wales which we won 9-0 with a great performance, however I did not play because I was carrying a hip flexer injury I picked up on the first day.
On the last day we had a training session in the morning which I struggled through and I was passed fit to play in the second match against Wales. We won 3-0 with me playing the whole match and keeping a clean sheet which was very satisfying. Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable few days and my next aim now is to be selected for the Four Nations in Holland which is played soon. Will keep you posted!
Cheers, Will
