Hey G-Team,
Time for another review of something that I’m currently using. This G-Mitt Pro (Left Hand) glove has been fantastic for me. I always used to think that gloves were for the softies of the game, but after using it I find that I’m more and more confident on getting low and making those ground level tackles. What made me wear a glove was sustaining a stick to the hand in an Australian Hockey League game. I’ve been wearing a glove ever since, and it didn’t hurt that the coach of the Australian Kookaburras and Gryphon legend, Ric Charlesworth, told the Aussie squad that having a glove was a no-brainer.

On to the glove. The open palm and fingertips design pretty much means that you don’t really notice that you’ve even got the thing on. It allows you to feel more of the stick whilst still providing protection to the back of your hand and knuckles. The back of the hand is protected by a single moulded piece of hard plastic, and the first knuckles are covered by individual moulded plastic pieces. The plastic in the glove is lined with foam to ensure more impact absorption and comfort. All of this is wrapped in a black lycra covering which gives us a comfortable, sleek design. The glove is so slim and comfortable that it has no effect on my hitting or skills, and now I can’t think of playing without it.
I find that the Gryphon G-Mitt Pro is a vital part in my arsenal of playing gear. The slim design means that I don’t notice having it on, but the strength of the plastic gives me the confidence to get in there and take the ball at ground level. All in all, this is a great glove and I seriously suggest that you get one for yourself, you won’t regret it (and your knuckles won’t either!)
